This year's edition of the annual Feok Festival celebration was observed as usual. The grand durbar was on 23rd December at the durbar grounds in Sandema of the Upper East region of Ghana.

Feok Festival 2022 Review

The 2022 edition of the annual Feok Festival celebration came off successfully as usual. The grand Durbar came off on 20th December 2022 at the Durbar grounds in Sandema. This year's celebration witnessed significantly low patronage, with the dire economic situation of the country being the major contributor.

Feok Festival 2021 Review

 The 2021 Feok Festival celebrations went on smoothly as usual. The grand durbar was held on 16th December 2021.

Attendance was low at this year's celebrations partly due to the uncertainty and late communication of the date for the grand durbar and also partly due to the hairy menacing COVID-19 pandemic whose Omicron variant was more flammable than hydrocarbon chemicals.

Feok Festival 2020 Review

Preparations for the celebration of the only major event on a Bulsa calendar, the Feok festival, began on a rather speculative note. There was no preparation for the celebrations with almost a month to the celebrations. Some people close to the paramount chief narrated how he was not enthused about this year's celebration because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Where Is The Fun In The Feok Games?

The introduction of football games is one of the most laudable ideas in the Feok celebrations in recent years. Through footballing fun, these games were supposed to help foster unity among the various communities in Buluk.

The Kantosi, a minority group that migrated from the Upper West region and settled among the Bulsa in the 1980s, has now become a part and parcel of Buluk culture and tradition.

How To Make The Feok Festival Attractive

The Feok festival is celebrated annually to honour the ancestors of Buluk for a good harvest and also thank them for helping conquer notorious slave raiders, Babatu and Samori in the late 1890s.
