The Poor Quality Of Water Produced By GWCL

The moment Ghana's name appears in any scandalous act, the people responsible begin to defend themselves and the institutions they manage, all because they think it will tarnish their "good image". Some even dismiss well-researched findings, just like the GWCL has done.

What these companies are failing to realize is that the more they dismiss reports and findings from institutions and individuals of high repute, the more they raise suspicion about their operations. People who had doubts even before the report came out will actually not be satisfied with an outright dismissal of work someone has done painstakingly for months.

At least, I know over ten years ago, GWCL used to tell us to open our taps to allow the water flow freely because they are flushing the pipelines and the water at that time wouldn't be good for drinking or cooking. A compensation plan was always in place for those with meters. These days, pipelines are never flushed because the GWCL will complain that they wouldn't be able to break even if they embarked on such an exercise with the expenses involved.
So why do they think it is rather at this time that the quality of water consumed is up to international standard? What of the burst pipes which end up receiving sand into them because of non-maintenance?

The GWCL must come again if they want to be taken as a serious entity with serious minds doing serious work for serious people.
